You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to bind the entity on whose behalf you are using the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Hardware Compliance provides an AI-powered platform that helps hardware teams identify applicable safety and regulatory standards, generate compliance documentation, and get products certified. Our services include:
- AI-powered regulatory research and standard identification
- Automated technical file and documentation drafting
- Hazard analysis and risk assessment generation
- Test plan creation and lab matching
3. Account Registration
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your login credentials confidential
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
4. Fees and Payment
Specific fee structures are outlined in your service agreement. Payment terms and pricing details will be provided during the onboarding process.
5. Your Data
5.1 Ownership
You retain all ownership rights to the data and documents you upload to the Service ("Your Data"). Hardware Compliance does not claim ownership of Your Data.
5.2 License
By uploading Your Data, you grant Hardware Compliance a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and transmit Your Data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
5.3 Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256), role-based access controls, and regular security audits.
6. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service (including software, algorithms, designs, and documentation) are owned by Hardware Compliance. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use Hardware Compliance's trademarks, logos, or brand features without prior written consent.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent data
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Access the Service through automated means (bots, scrapers) without authorization
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HARDWARE COMPLIANCE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Hardware Compliance does not guarantee that:
- Any specific certification outcome will be achieved
- Regulatory bodies will approve any particular submission
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
Certification outcomes are subject to review and approval by the relevant regulatory bodies. Timelines may vary.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HARDWARE COMPLIANCE'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES PAID BY YOU TO HARDWARE COMPLIANCE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
IN NO EVENT SHALL HARDWARE COMPLIANCE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hardware Compliance and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- The accuracy and completeness of Your Data
11. Termination
Either party may terminate these Terms at any time with 30 days' written notice. Hardware Compliance may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
- You may request export of Your Data within 30 days of termination
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
